Renaissance-style portative organ by D. A. Flentrop, 1966. This is the smallest organ ever built by the iconic Dutch firm known for their pioneering role in the historical organbuilding revival. 44 notes, C-g''', at A=440. Single rank of metal Gedackt pipes, cap tuned. Pipe unit (33" wide x 14" deep x 39" high) sits on top of electric blower, connected with detachable hose. French double after Taskin (1769) built from a Hubbard kit by William Silvey, 1979. 61 notes, FF-f''' transposing 415/440. 2x8', 4', peau de buffle, and buff rail. A carefully-built and tastefully-decorated instrument with beautiful soundboard painting by Pamela Gladding. The lower 8' has the big, resonant bass for which the best of these instruments is known, rich tenor, and a clear treble. Upper 8' sings with a gentle and refined timbre, and 4' adds brightness without bite. French double after Taskin (1769) built from a Hubbard kit by L. G. Eckstein, 1975, completely rebuilt by The Harpsichord Shop, 2022. 62 notes, FF-g''' transposing 415/440. 2x8', 4', no buff stop. The extra high g''' lets you play the later Iberian repertoire (Soler, Seixas, etc.) not possible on the F-f''' compass found on many  double manual harpsichords. This instrument is voiced for maximum contrast between the two 8' stops, resulting in a rich, orchestral timbre when the manuals are coupled together; lots of color without sacrificing boldness.
